Koyama Ramen Shop visit

This evening my friends and I ventured to Sobudai-mae for dinner at the Koyama family ramen shop. Not only was the food great, but everyone was really friendly even before they discovered we were News and Koyama fans. So this is a brief report and some pics about our evening.

It was quite a memorable evening ...Collapse )

Your visit sounds lovely. I am making a note and will try to get there next time I am in Tokyo. Nice that they speak English, although I can struggle along in Japanese, it does make things easier!

I'm Actually going to Tokyo this New Years. If you dont mine me asking, can I get the address or directions to Keichan ramen shop? I wanna be another Aussie to be in their shop ^^.. although I wonder if Koyama mum will notice me.. considering I'm an Asian too XD and dark one at that XD..

oh yeh! were you allowed to take photos inside their shop?
ahh since u already gave his mum a koala and kangeroo phone strap.. I wonder what I could present her with, it shouldn't be too big huh?

Sorry for the delay, but now I'm finally home from my trip, I'm busily trying to catch up on many things.

A few people have asked about directions and I'm going to do a post about getting there, based on my experiences. So stay tuned for that.

We started out taking photos very discretely but by the end, after things got much more animated, they invited us to take photos, so I guess you've just got to play it by ear.

And there's plenty of other Aussie things - many kinds of kangaroos and koalas, you can never have too many. And from what I've read from other reports, they don't really accept gifts, the phonestraps seem like a small token that is definitely a way to introduce yourself and say thank you.

so does this means you talked to her in english? or in japanese?
i'm kinda curious about it because it's a bit hard to find an english-speaking japanese

anyway, thanks for sharing the story and for being the representative for all NEWS foreign fans!
we have to make them know that we exist ^^
i hope someday i'll get the chance to meet them too!

I'm finally home and catching up, so sorry for the delay ... but yes, we did mostly speak to her in Japanese. Our Japanese is pretty basic, but we did have enough to sustain a conversation, so that was very rewarding as well.

She was definitely surprised that we knew about News and Kei-chan in Australia, and blown away that I really was a fan of his. It was a real highlight of my trip, and so unexpected.
